Drill Team 2014

its finally that time of year again! band camp season! er starting on the 11th
as you may or may not know i am a huuge band dork and im on my highschools drill team
this year i made co-captain and although im super happy about my new role im also pretty upset too
first of all a friend of mine who is going to be a senior should have had the captain spot which is currently occupied by a lazy junior who doesnt really care about the team, but rather her ego and cheerleading team.
im a junior now too and i feel as if my poor friend was jipped of a role she was rightful for. i dont mean to sound like im bragging but my teammates, bandmates, and friends all agree that my senior friend and i should have been captains however our coach favors the lazy captain because they both dont really care about our team. go figure. (dont even get me started on how awful my coach is)
so i get a text message from the captain asking me to make up a ribbon routine for the team (which is the lamest thing ever) while she does the flags. i decided to stand my ground an say "hey i want to do flags because you quite frankly dont care enough to do them well" as nicely as possible and turns out my coach wants me to create both of our flag routines while the captain creates the ribbon routine. ha
plus im going to show off the new moves i learne over the summer hehehe
flags are my favorite thing to do (we dance use pom poms and ribbons too) and ive been told im "best at flags on the team" which is truly one of the nicest things ive been told because ive really connected with this sport and im really proud of what i do but anyways..
i hope to make these routines as kickass as possible, and mabye quite possibly become head captain senior year
on the other hand im scared for bancamp because my ex best friend is on the team and the majority of my friends in band/drillteam either quit or transferred schools so its going to be a HUUGE change...i still have friends in band but they have other friends too and i dunno i just dont want to be the odd one out. ahwell i hope all goes well
god only knows i have so much pressure on my shoulders...
